Ka\u017eu kako se povijest stvara svakoga dana\u2026
Vinkovci svoju, bez prekida pi\u0161u ve\u0107 vi\u0161e od 8000 godina, i s ponosom nose naziv najstarijeg europskog naselja.<\/p>\n

Povoljan je topografski polo\u017eaj bio glavni preduvjet za naseljavanje prostora grada Vinkovaca u prapovijesti, \u0161to je prepoznato i u 20. stolje\u0107u kada Vinkovci postaju veliko i poznato \u017eeljezni\u010dko \u010dvori\u0161te. U nizu prapovijesnih kultura svakako treba izdvojiti dvije kulture koje su obuhva\u0107ale \u0161ire podru\u010dje, a ime su dobile po lokalnim toponimima; Sopotu (mla\u0111ekamenodobna Sopotska kultura) i Vinkovcima (ranobron\u010danodobna Vinkova\u010dka kultura).<\/p>\n

U Vinkovcima je otkriven i najstariji indoeuropski kalendar \u2013 Orion, iz vremena bakrenodobne Vu\u010dedolske kulture.\u00a0Rimljani su na prostoru Grada osnovali naselje – Koloniju Aureliju Cibale (Colonia Aurelia Cibalae), koje je kroz stolje\u0107a postalo tre\u0107i najve\u0107i grad u provinciji Drugoj Panoniji.<\/p>\n

U Cibalama su ro\u0111ena i dva rimska cara, bra\u0107a Valentinijan i Valens, jedini rimski carevi ro\u0111eni na prostoru dana\u0161nje Republike Hrvatske. Tijekom \u201emra\u010dnog srednjeg vijeka\u201c na prostoru Vinkovaca razvilo se trgova\u010dko sredi\u0161te Sveti Ilija (Szentillye), a pripadalo mu je manje naselje – selo imena Vinkovci (Wynkocz). Nakon Osmanlijskog razdoblja,neizbrisivi trag u povijesti grada ostavlja razdoblje Vojne krajine u vidu niza zgrada izgra\u0111enih u tzv. vojno-barokno-kraji\u0161kom stilu.<\/p>\n

Zahuktalu se lokomotivu napretka vi\u0161e nije moglo zaustaviti, pa kroz industrijalizaciju Vinkovci, od male varo\u0161ice, dobivaju status grada i nastavljaju se razvijati sve do Domovinskoga rata, kada je grad pretrpio te\u0161ka fizi\u010dka razaranja i ljudske \u017ertve. Niti taj doga\u0111aj nije prekinuo nit kontinuiteta razvoja grada. Vinkovci se i danas nastavljaju razvijati na bogatoj i plodnoj ba\u0161tini koju su nam ostavili na\u0161i preci.<\/p>\n

Danas, na tragu povijesnog bogatstva, svi posjetitelji mogu u\u017eivati u manifestaciji Rimski dani<\/em>, a vrijednost naslje\u0111a \u0160okaca, obi\u010daja i kulture \u017eivota, ponosno se pokazuje svake godine na Vinkova\u010dkim jesenima.<\/em><\/p>\n

Iako vrijeme odmi\u010de, ljubav i toplina ovoga grada ne prestaje. Dapa\u010de, ona je sve ve\u0107a i ja\u010da. Uvjerite se sami otkrivaju\u0107i grad s najduljim kontinuitetom \u017eivota u Europi!<\/p>\n
